Bachman Lake Together is a nonprofit, collective-impact initiative that connects families, community partners and supporters in a shared purpose: ensuring Bachman Lake is a neighborhood where children, families and opportunities prosper.
Since 2014, our collaborative has brought families, the philanthropic community and community partners together around one goal: ensuring every child in Bachman Lake is ready for kindergarten. That work has led to real gains in early learning and in equipping parents of our neighborhood’s youngest children to lead for their children and community.
But one thing is clear — the need for this work does not stop at kindergarten. Families in Bachman Lake navigate academic, health and community challenges that influence children’s success. To sustain early progress, they need strong, coordinated support across the neighborhood and continued partnership as their children grow through elementary school. That's why Bachman Lake Together focuses on these key foundations that children and families need to thrive:

Bachman Lake Together’s mission is to unite the Bachman Lake Community to fully prepare children for kindergarten – academically, socially and emotionally – so they can thrive in school and in life.
Strong starts build strong futures. When children are prepared to enter kindergarten ready to learn, they are four times more likely to graduate from high school. High school graduates have a higher rate of continuing on to university, ultimately leading to increased earnings in adulthood, improved health, maintain good health and overall well-being long-term, and contribute to their community and the education of the next generation.
Since 2009, Bachman Lake Together, has worked alongside its parent leaders, community members and partner agencies to lay the foundation for success. These principals are key to our work in improving kindergartner readiness in the Bachman Lake community. We believe that lifting up and including the varied perspectives of our constituents is critical to ensuring all children have the opportunity to succeed.
