šŸ”¶Ā Our History

Urgent Animals of Fort Worth, Inc. was founded in 2017, but our story began many years before. We started as a Facebook page for networking the sick, injured, and otherwise unwanted shelter pets at Fort Worth Animal Care and Control shelter. While we had tremendous success helping to find adoptive homes or rescue organizations to save hundreds of these pets every year, we wanted to do more; to save more animals. That is why we became a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization so we can do just that!

šŸ”¶ Our Work

We step in to save the pets that are overlooked due to serious and costly medical or behavioral issues. Through the teamwork of our amazing volunteers, foster parents, veterinarians, and trainers, we are able to help these broken pets heal physically and spiritually, and ultimately move on to loving forever homes. These are animals that would not have had a chance at life otherwise. Most would very likely not have left the shelter alive.

Our rescue has helped many animals in need since forming our nonprofit organization. Every pet is special to us, but we've seen some pretty amazing stories come from our work. One of our rescued pets was honored as a K9 officer of the day and awarded a special certificate at a city hall meeting. Two other dogs have gone on to become certified therapy pets! This only shows how important our work has been, and inspires us daily to continue our efforts. Not only for the animals we save, but for those whose lives are enriched by these pets once they have been rehabilitated and adopted.Ā

Additionally, we now offer assistance, when possible, to pet owners who are facing financial difficulties by providing basic necessities and/or medical care for their animals. This helps decrease the need for rehoming or surrendering to already overcrowded shelters. Keeping pets with the families that love them is always the best option for all involvedĀ

šŸ”¶Ā Our Needs

Monetary donations is always our primary need to provide medical and daily care or behavioral training for pets in our foster program.

Dog food is another top need, which can be easily donated directly to us through our Chewy.com wish list: Ā
