Wylie Community Band

A nonprofit organization

Wylie Community Band began in 2016 and is under the direction of Dr. Ross Grant.  The band is a volunteer organization of enthusiastic musicians ranging from recreational players to professionals, 16 to 80 years of age. We perform 6 to 7 programs a year, with a variety of music including jazz, Broadway show tunes, marches, and classic band repertoire.  As part of our educational outreach, the band co-sponsored "Wylie in the Meyerson", a joint program at the Meyerson Symphony Center on March 25, 2023, featuring instrumental and choral groups from Wylie I.S.D., Wylie Community Jazz Band, and the Wylie Community Band provided instrumental accompaniment to the WISD Citywide 5th Grade Choir.  The band also has smaller groups which have performed in smaller venues, such as assisted living facilities and community events. The band has been designated the Official Community Band of the City of Wylie.
