Our Needs

Help young Dallas athletes pave a positive future towards college and beyond by donating to Dallas’ only national championship-winning rowing club: White Rock Rowing! Our athletes come from all socioeconomic backgrounds from around the metroplex to put in the hard work every day as a means to attend the most prestigious universities in the country via recruitment and scholarships. But our junior programs need new equipment to continue providing Dallas youth opportunities to perform at the highest level and to keep pace with other programs from around the country. Donate to White Rock Rowing to help provide the best equipment for our middle and high school athletes, including more seats in boats and several more safety launches. Our local youth’s bright futures are counting on it!

Mission

White Rock Rowing changes lives by putting oars and opportunities in the hands of Dallas youth. We foster a culture of teamwork and leadership, preparing our athletes for success in sports and in life. We provide world-class programs for middle school and high school rowers – regardless of ethnicity or financial ability – because rowing and the doors it opens should be accessible to everyone. In close partnership with the City of Dallas and Dallas Parks & Recreation Department, we provide state-of-the-art training facilities for our athletes, and we steward Dallas property around White Rock Lake to give the Dallas public fun recreational activities.

Needs

PEACH SYSTEM

- Telemetry System for the boat. This measures individual output of rowers on the water. It correlates the force curve with video which gives concrete data to aid in improvements in techniques for strokes.

LAST 500 MACHINES

- A training tool that looks like a seated row machine in the gym but the seat slides to mimic the rowing stroke. This teaches the athlete to connect with the weight and to be patient rather than "jumping" and "shooting the slide."

POWERLINE BACKSTAYS

- These attach to the actual shell of the boat and provides stiffness to the shell and prevents flexing of the riggers (which takes a large amount of the force of the stroke). The stiffness allows for a better transfer of power and boat speed.

BARBELL ACCELEROMETER

- These attach to the barbells in the weight room that allows for additional metrics to be tracked for each rower. It can track the speed with which the bar moves during movements in the weight room as well as tracking the bar path. This data can be used to give targets when training and track improvements in motions.

CONCEPT 2 ERG MACHINES

- Replacing old erg machines with new, state-of-the-art machines will help improve on-land training for all rowers at all levels.
