Art Song is poetry set to music, usually performed by classically trained voice and piano accompaniment, at times with other instruments, in a chamber music setting. This medium is an art form combining the wisdom & insight of poetry with the inherent beauty of song & the scintillating drama of live performance with the power to stimulate public audiences and enhance the quality of listener's lives.
Voces Intimae is dedicated to the revitalization and promotion of art song in the North Texas region. It strives to provide education and performance opportunities to students and those who study art song just for the love of the art. Voces Intimae's annual Liederabend and master class series provides an opportunity for students and musicians to share the art of song in an informal and intimate setting.
Our Needs
Voces Intimae invites you to be a part of our 2023/2024 Season "The Femme Chronicles: Music by Women and about Women." We start our season with a concert of Latin Music featuring Mexican Female Composers called "Mexicana Hermosa: A celebration of women" featuring Duo Atesorado at the Latino Cultural Arts Center during Hispanic Heritage Month. Then in February, Voces Intimae highlights the songs of Black Female Composers during Black History Month with "Herstory." Later in the Spring, we will offer a concert featuring the music of two fabulous, living Female Composers, Mary Alice Rich and Joelle Wallach.
As part of our education program, Voces Intimae will offer a Student Liederabend for high school through college students in the Fall and an Adult Liederabend in early June that is open to the public and free of charge.

Mission
Voces Intimae: The Art of Song is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing the art of song to the North Texas region. Voces Intimae explores poets and composers from around the world in solo and ensemble literature and in songs from every era of the vocal art to music of the 21st century. Each season Voces Intimae offers a series of exciting recitals with outstanding professional singers and pianists from the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and further afield.
Needs
Due to the pandemic, Voces Intimae has been working hard to reestablish its' economic security. It has been a financially difficult few years and we want to thank you for your gifts to help Voces Intimae continue to be the only shining light for vocal art song in DFW.
