The Unity Process (UP) stands out from other programs that are conversation based in that it is more than just conversations but a process that includes conversation as well as skill development and experiential learning activities. The UP also stands out from social justice programs in that it seeks a heart level change that will lead to more people engaging in social justice activities but also having conversations with family and friends and others they encounter in order to continue the work of educating and transforming others.
We connect the UP with Visible Communities (VC) which offers UP participants as well as the general public opportunities to engage with others from different backgrounds. VC are comprised of events created by our organization and events our organization partners in or merely participates in. The UP provides the necessary tools to aid them to speak rationally about race, equity and inclusion and VC provide the opportunities for these engagements.
Our Needs
Visible Unity is in need of funds to expand their programming for young adults (high school and college aged) and also so that more Unity Process groups can be facilitated at the same time. Currently we have one person who is able to facilitate groups. Funds are also needed for office/meeting space and production of the materials that are distributed during the groups. We are also in need of office space for maintaining the documents and receipts of the organization.
