Veterans Produce

We help break the cycle of food insecurity by empowering Veterans to provide for themselves. Veterans work alongside each other, learning new skills and experiencing the rewarding nature of farming, growing healthy organic food by their own hands.

Building local community gardens enables 365-day access to exceptionally healthy organic food.

Organic produce occupies 50% or more of major grocery store shelves and demand is growing rapidly. However, organic farming is not typically found in North Texas and there is no natural pipeline or training grounds for veterans desiring to learn these types of skills.

Veterans Produce fills this void with the necessary technical skills and hands on training to successfully grow organic produce. The military teaches the service mindset which explains why most veterans still seek opportunities to serve in the civilian life. Balancing these industry elements makes organic farming an excellent career.

Our Needs

Veterans Produce is currently seeking funds to build two additional 12' x 48' greenhouses to feed homeless veterans.

Each community greenhouse creates 225 plants a week, which in turn feeds about 900 people.
