The Winston School opened in Dallas in 1975 to meet the need for a school that could provide individualized learning programs for students with learning disabilities, including challenges in reading, writing, language, and mathematics, as well as ADHD. Today, The Winston School provides a college preparatory curriculum to over 160 students in grades Kindergarten through twelve. Essential to the Winston educational experience are its co-curricular programs in visual and performing arts, athletics, community service, student government, Winston Science, and solar science. These programs are structured to foster the individuality, leadership potential, and creativity of each Winston student. The School is proud to have been recognized both nationally and internationally for our success within the Winston Solar Car Challenge. the Winston School is accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest (ISAS), approved by the Texas Education Agency (TEA), and is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS).
