The Sixth Floor Museum offers a variety of learning and engagement opportunities that explore President Kennedy's lasting legacy. From arts and culture, to social and technological initiatives, space exploration, scientific achievements, civil rights, citizenship, volunteerism and more the Museum works to connects the past to the present for students, families and visitors.

Our Needs

The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza chronicles the assassination and legacy of President John F. Kennedy. The Museum interprets this pivotal moment of American History for thousands of students and families each year. Through in-person visits to the Museum as well as virtual learning opportunities, the Museum explores the lasting effects of the assassination. By presenting culturally relevant themes that connect the past to the present, the Museum has become known for its impartial story-telling and respectful approach to the tragic events of November 1963. 

A gift to the Museum will offer support for special education programs that include a robust set of learning opportunities for K-12 students. Curricula ranges from civics and civil rights to STEAM, language arts and fine arts. All programs align to TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills) and national standards. 

Mission

The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza chronicles the assassination and legacy of President John F. Kennedy; interprets the Dealey Plaza National Historic Landmark District and the John F. Kennedy Memorial Plaza; and presents contemporary culture within the context of presidential history.
