We Bring Musical Entertainment to North TexasThe Contemporary Chorale exists to provide quality musical entertainment that achieves a high standard of excellence.
As the oldest, continuously operating choir in North Texas, The Contemporary Chorale is a unique group of individuals from all over the North Texas area dedicated to entertaining our audiences, educating our members, and making a positive impact on our community.
What We Do
The Chorale performs two concerts per year. We perform pieces from jazz to Broadway to traditional choral anthems during the holidays, always striving to create an opportunity for our singers to experience personal musical growth, thereby enhancing the artistic value of our performances.
This December, we will be sharing our sound with the North Texas community at Christmas with the Chorale on December 9, 2023.

How Your Donations Will Help
Our organization incurs costs associated with the production of our performances. Your donations will help cover the costs of sheet music (supporting other artists!), show programs, and our small marketing budget to promote our performances. Any amount you can donate will help us!
Our History
The Contemporary Chorale has brought quality entertainment to the Dallas metroplex for over 60 years. The organization was formed in 1956 as a women's lecture group, The Richardson Harmonettes. Over the years, the group morphed and changed to reflect changes in culture and to stay relevant. The name was changed in 1974 to The Contemporary Chorale, as it remains today. The Chorale has had nine directors through its history and each one has brought their own mark to the group.
