The Awareness Project is aimed at addressing serious issues we face here in the community. Hunger and homelessness are are on the rise.
-At least 1 in 5 kids are living food insecure; And almost 20% of those living on the street and in shelters are veterans. Here's why we do it...

Our goal is to ignite a more unified community, and come together to create positive solutions through volunteer stewardship and service.
Originally started as just a few volunteers, The Awareness Project has grown to over 450 volunteers, and dozens of outreach projects.
We are serving the homeless, putting together environmental cleanups, and working with animals and seniors.
-Twice a year we hold donation drives for families in need, collecting toys, warm clothing and shoes.
-Our teams put together weekly community build events, annual Earth Day celebrations, and monthly upcycling projects.
As you can see, There are many ways to volunteer at The Awareness Project. And many ways to help.
That's why we need YOU!
We are growing a movement of socially innovative solutions to communities within the DFW area and beyond.

real people + real problems = the need for real awareness

Because of North Texas Giving Day 2017, we were able to open a community resource center and small upcycled thrift shop, and we named it Dapper Inc.
Through our newly launched, FreshStart Program we have been able to help individuals with:
- resume building and career coaching- free wifi and computer workstations - community service hours - clothing and shoes - baby needs and home furnishings.
What a success it has become! We urge you to stop in an check us out! Entirely built by the community for the community!

This year we are blessed to be receiving regular food donations, enabling us to serve even more families through our TAP Kitchen Pantry
Program. And it gets even better...JUST this MONTH, we received a small cafe space and kitchen as a donation and we are setting up to serve even more people living food insecure.
But of course, with new (old) space, comes new bills & new problems.
Dapper Cafe / TAP Kitchen will need some upgrades with equipment, a.c. repair, and more.

North Texas Giving Day, September 20th is your opportunity to help us:
-grow this Community Cafe and Pantry
-put together more outreach projects - and make them bigger and better
renovate, update and rejuvenate our current operations
-create part time positions within our organization
-more environmental research and solutions

No matter what it is that you Love about The Awareness Project, your gift this September 20th is multiplied and matched.
We are so happy to know that you support what we are doing in the community!
Thank you for all the love!
