2026 Needs
We were recently surprised to learn that our landlord has sold the building our rescue has called home for the past 16 years. Thankfully, our lease continues through August 2027, so the piggies and bunnies are safe and our daily operations are continuing, but finding and preparing a new facility for an entire rescue can take a very long time. We need to start searching now.
Our Board is exploring every possibility: renting again, purchasing a building, or even buying land and creating a rescue facility of our own. It’s a huge and somewhat overwhelming undertaking, and we truly need the help of our community.
We also need to be honest: whatever path we take, relocating and preparing a safe new home for the animals will require a tremendous amount of funding. We would be incredibly grateful to connect with generous individuals, businesses, sponsors, or foundations that may be interested in helping make our next home possible. Donations of every size will help us prepare for the significant expenses ahead.
With this unexpected need ahead of us, we’re also making a BIG change to our North Texas Giving Day goal. Our original goal was $8,000 — we’re now raising it to $100,000.
It’s an ambitious goal, but finding, securing, and preparing a new home for our rescue will be an enormous undertaking. Every donation, no matter the size, gets us one step closer. ❤️
Ongoing Needs
We are always raising funds to pay for animal veterinary care for the guinea pigs, rabbits and other small furry animals we take into our rescue. Even with the kind hearted veterinarians who give us discounted care, the costs for surgeries, routine rabbit spays and neuters, and other necessary care add up quickly. Funds raised during NTXGD help us to get the animals the care they need.
