Needs
Programs that need your help:
* Cool Schools Program: This program connects students and teachers to nature by planting trees and creating fun and engaging outdoor experiential learning and recreation areas. These spaces cultivate children’s knowledge and awareness of the natural environment. We launched this program for the health and well-being of Dallas ISD students and to provide solutions to deal with the effects of urban heat in Dallas.
* South Western Medical District: We are reinvisioning the story of The Southwestern Medical District in Dallas, Texas by creating a visionary landscape that enhances the environment, uplifts adjoining neighborhoods and businesses, spurs economic development and nurtures the body, mind and spirit of the more than 4 million individuals who experience the district annually.
* TXU Energy Urban Tree Farm: This tree farm serves as the Foundation’s tree nursery and volunteer site as well as benefiting Dallas by offsetting emissions and energy consumption from the hundreds of trees grown yearly.
* Nature Lab: This new and innovative program will bring together scholars and students, citizens and civic leaders, academic institutions and non-profits, government and business to tackle real life eco-problems in real time at the intersection of urban living and human health.
* Neighborwoods: This program provides free trees to homeowners that live within a park desert to increase neighborhood tree canopy coverage, increase property value, better the environment, improve city infrastructure, and beautify the community.
