As a 39 years old, mother of five, being diagnosed with stage 3 inflammatory breast cancer was terrifying. Despite raising concerns about a soft spot on my breast during a mammogram years earlier, I was told it was normal. In 2021, I finally got the necessary tests, revealing cancer that was already so far developed. The news hurt deeply, I felt as if I let myself and my family down by not advocating for my health earlier and more. Life changed in the blink of an eye. Through treatments, surgeries, therapies, and the turmoil of being unwell, life became real. I lost my income, job, and benefits during this process but persevered in my journey back to good health. Despite obstacles, I maintained faith and resilience.

I learned you have to be your own advocate. Make appointments until someone listens and conducts the necessary tests to address health issues at the root.

Faith2Fight is not just a business; it's a mission for me. Interacting with others and listening to their experiences, some very similar to my own, I recognized a missing support system in awareness and assistance for those affected by chronic diseases. From frustration, I found motivation. Now, I am on a mission to bring about change and provide support to those touched by unseen struggles. The work I do is reliant on the support Faith2Fight receives from grants and/or generous donors.

The opportunities: provide support initiatives, aiding families in navigating through their challenges. This includes giving support in underserved community areas, fostering greater awareness, organizing health and physical activities, beat bullying symposium and hosting mental health events for those impacted by life’s sudden occurrences.

Some challenges we are facing are rooted in restricted funds to be able to run the nonprofit efficiently as we envision for those that need our help the most.
