At Finn's Place, we take seriously our mission to foster a space where our trans and gender-diverse community can Gather, Grow, and Flourish. Per my personal experience, our peer support network is the program that offers the most complete vision of this intent. These are groups organized and supported by the community members themselves, and they provide absolutely essential psychological and social support to a community that so often longs for both. While these groups do not replace therapy, they do provide a free to access, non-hierarchical system of support and connection to anyone who needs it, no matter where they are on their journey of self-discovery.
As a peer support lead during our very first year of running this program, I have had the pleasure of seeing just how needed this support system is. People from across all walk of life, generations, and gender/sexual identity have joined us and been able to find community in people with the same concerns and needs as them. I've seen people drive from over 2 hours away because they needed people to talk to. We've helped people navigate difficulties with family, employers, friends, and more. More often than anything else, however, we see people enter into our groups feeling alone, but leaving realizing that they have a vast network of others beside them actively pursuing the same comfort and security they are.

When you give to Finn's Place, you help us make sure that absolutely essential programs like this continue to reach those who need them. With your donations, we will be able to hire more leads, open more meeting times to increase access, and bring in new professionals to provide extra support where needed. In this climate where our trans and gender-diverse community is actively being alienated from each other and being made to feel alone, help us show that there is love and care in abundance for them.
