During the last 9 years, Evanescent Mustangs grew into one of the largest mustang focused rescues, helping over 1,000 at risk mustangs and burros across the U.S. As founder and Executive Director of the rescue, and as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Candace's dream was to help families in Texoma heal alongside rescued mustangs and burros through Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy. Over the last few years, more rescues began focusing on helping mustangs so we have been able to go back to the beginning; helping mustangs, burros, and humans in our community.
Cassie's Corner is a very special section at the Evanescent Sanctuary where humans can heal from trauma alongside Evanescent senior mustangs, currently Cassie (34) and Cherokee (33). Caring for senior mustangs requires a special setup and a lot more funding than younger equine. As their teeth decline, they may be unable to eat/digest hay (like Cassie) and need a safe place to eat their mash without being run off, which is why Cassie's Corner was created. This fundraiser helps to continue improving Cassie's Corner, which will include expanding the perimeter, put up fans for the summer heat, and put in a run in shelter for protection from the crazy North Texas winter weather! Funds raised will also help to feed the Evanescent Senior Mustangs through this upcoming winter!
