$2,500 Goal

The Taylor Hooton Foundation (THF) was formed in memory of Taylor E. Hooton, a 17-year-old high school student from Plano, Texas who took his own life on July 15, 2003 as a result of using anabolic steroids.

The THF is a nonprofit organization that is considered the leader in educating youth and their adult influencers on the truths about Appearance and Performance Enhancing Substances, including anabolic steroids, human growth hormone (HGH), energy drinks, and dietary supplements.

It has been 20 years since Taylor passed away.  Because of generous supporters like you over 2.5 million people have been directly educated on the potential dangers of Appearance and Performance Enhancing Substances.  Thank you for considering coming along side the Hooton family to help ensure that no other families experience the same tragedy.

Our Needs

THF provides education to schools and community associations (students, parents, and staff) about Appearance and Performance Enhancing Substances (also known as PED's) including anabolic steroids, Human Growth Hormone (HGH), dietary supplements, and energy drinks. 11% of high school students (male and female; athlete and non-athlete) admit to using HGH. 7% of high school students (male and female; athlete and non-athlete) admit to using anabolic steroids. The top three reasons our youth are using these substances: To look good, To feel better about themselves and To improve athletic performance. Couple this with 85% of young people say they have never had an adult talk to them about the dangers of these substances and this is why getting education in front of our youth is critical before they make the decision to use these substances. Our goal is to not only educate kids about the dangers of Appearance and Performance Enhancing Substances, but to inspire them to live and compete PED Free. The funds raised on NTX Giving Day will be used exclusively to deliver programs in North Texas both in person and virtually.

Mission

Mission: To enlighten the world to the truths about Appearance and Performance Enhancing Substances.

Vision: To eliminate the use of Appearance and Performance Enhancing Substances in American, Canadian and Latin American middle schools, high schools and universities.
