In August 2021, we rescued Spirit at the Bowie auction moments before he left on the slaughter truck. At 16 years old, poor neglected Spirit was just going to be thrown out like trash. Luckily, we stepped in at the last minute to save his life.
He arrived to our farm and we immediately got to work nursing him back to health… starting with an exam and hoof trim.
Today, Spirit is living it up, at the age of 20, at Greener Pastures Farm Sanctuary! Although he is one of our most expensive animals medically, he is doing tremendously better than he was 4 years ago.
