Blackland Prairie Raptor Center is raising funds to create a dedicated nursery for our youngest and most vulnerable patients. As our rehabilitation program continues to grow and we care for a record number of injured, orphaned, and displaced raptors, the need for additional specialized space has become increasingly important.
Baby raptors require intensive care during the earliest stages of their development. They need a safe, quiet environment where they can be monitored closely, receive proper nutrition and medical care, and grow strong enough to progress through the rehabilitation process. A dedicated nursery will allow our team to provide that level of care while also creating more room throughout our rehabilitation facility for the growing number of patients arriving each year.
BPRC has already admitted more than 700 patients this year, making this a record-breaking year for our rehabilitation program. We are committed to continuing to provide care to raptors in need, and we never want a lack of space to prevent us from helping a bird that needs us. Expanding our capacity with a dedicated nursery will help ensure that we can continue meeting the needs of our community and the wildlife we serve.
Funds raised through A Safe Start for Baby Raptors will help support the creation and development of this important new space, giving orphaned and injured young raptors a safe place to grow, heal, and prepare for the next stages of rehabilitation. Ultimately, our goal is to give each bird the best possible chance to become strong enough for release back into the wild.
By supporting this campaign, you are helping us invest in the future of raptor rehabilitation at BPRC. Every gift brings us one step closer to creating the space our youngest patients need and ensuring that baby raptors in North Texas continue to have a place to turn when they need help most.
Help us give baby raptors a safe start and a chance to soar!
