Help Us Build a Raptor Nursery

Blackland Prairie Raptor Center is raising $25,000 to build a dedicated raptor nursery for our youngest and most vulnerable patients. As our rehabilitation program continues to grow and we care for a record number of injured, orphaned, and displaced raptors, the need for additional specialized space has become increasingly urgent.

Baby raptors require intensive care during the earliest stages of their development. They need a safe, quiet environment where they can be closely monitored, receive proper nutrition and medical care, and grow strong enough to progress through the rehabilitation process. A dedicated nursery will give our team the space and resources needed to provide that level of care while also creating more room throughout our rehabilitation facility for the growing number of patients arriving each year.

BPRC has already admitted more than 700 patients this year, making this a record-breaking year for our rehabilitation program. We are committed to continuing to provide care to raptors in need, and we never want a lack of space to prevent us from helping a bird that needs us. Reaching our $25,000 goal will help us expand our capacity and create a specialized nursery designed to meet the needs of orphaned and injured young raptors.

Funds raised through A Safe Start for Baby Raptors will go directly toward the creation and development of this new nursery, giving baby raptors a safe place to grow, heal, and prepare for the next stages of rehabilitation. Ultimately, our goal is to give every bird the best possible chance to become strong enough for release back into the wild.
