I first learned about Bonton Farms when Kara and I visited on one of our very first dates. I remember leaving that day amazed by what was happening in this South Dallas community. It was clear pretty quickly that Bonton Farms was about much more than farming.
Several years later, I now have the privilege of serving on staff here, and my love for this mission has only grown.
Every day, I get to see the people behind the work. I see neighbors finding opportunities, apprentices building new skills, volunteers showing up to serve, and people from across Dallas coming together around a community that believes deeply in what’s possible.
That’s why this North Texas Giving Day is personal for me.

Bonton Farms has set a goal of raising $150,000 for renovations to the Coffee House, and I’m hoping to personally raise $200 toward that goal.
The Coffee House is more than a place to grab a cup of coffee.
It’s one of the places where people experience Bonton Farms firsthand. Neighbors, volunteers, supporters, and visitors come through the doors, sit down together, and build relationships.
It’s also a place with the potential to create even more opportunity.
With these renovations, Bonton Farms can continue strengthening the Coffee House as a space for workforce development, where people can gain hands-on experience in hospitality, customer service, and meaningful employment.
That’s what More Than a Farm means to me.
This campaign isn’t just about renovating a building. It’s about investing in a space that can help people learn skills, gain experience, build confidence, connect with others, and take another step toward economic stability.
At Bonton Farms, the work has always gone beyond growing food.
Bonton Farms addresses the things people need to truly thrive through T.E.A.C.H.E.S.: Transportation, Education, Access to Fair Credit, Community, Health & Wellness, Economic Stability, and Safe & Affordable Housing.
The Coffee House is one piece of that bigger vision.
It creates a place for community. It creates opportunities to learn and work. And it gives people another way to connect with what Bonton Farms is building in South Dallas.
That’s why I’m asking my friends, family, and community to help me reach my personal goal of $200.
Whether you can give $10, $25, $50, $100, or something more, every gift moves Bonton Farms closer to the $150,000 Coffee House renovation goal.
If you’re able to give, thank you. Truly.
And if you can share my page with someone who might connect with this mission, I’d appreciate that too.
Because this is about more than renovating a Coffee House. It’s about creating a place where opportunity can grow.
