What does it mean to have a village?
My dad is the youngest of twelve, and this past year we lost two of his five big sisters. Aunt Nita (seated left) and Aunt Sivie (seated right) were leaders in our family, and were always there when we needed them. Some of my earliest family memories are of massive family gatherings at Nita's house - all of us together, laughing.
Losing them has been crushing for our family, but it also helped remind me, and re-center me, on what it means to have a village - and how critical it is to recovery.
My family lost a couple of titans this year, and we are blessed to have such a strong village as we work through the grief. Many of you may have lost titans of your own this year, and I hope you had a village to surround you as well. If not, please reach out to our team at Carson's Village.
