Maya Osorto for NTX Giving Day 2025!

Hello! I am a junior at Texas A&M University and am majoring in Construction Science. 

I became a Hendrick scholar in 2023. 

After I graduate, I plan to teach young adults in high school, college, or university construction-related subjects. I am currently working as an undergraduate research assistant for Dr. Minerva Bonilla, a professor in the Construction Science Department.

HSF has made a difference in my life by connecting me with a wonderful mentor who I can talk to about anything, provides life advice, is a great accountability buddy, and brings positivity into my life. HSF has presented me with great opportunities to enrich my life, including workshops where I have learned valuable life skills, and tickets to see the Plano Symphony Orchestra (see the picture below)! The financial aid I was awarded by HSF in my senior year of high school gave me the courage to attend the four-year university I fell in love with.
