When Lisa was first diagnosed with breast cancer, she felt overwhelmed, scared, and alone. The thought of chemotherapy filled her with dread — not just because of the treatments themselves, but because of the unknowns that came with them.

Then, one day, a package arrived: a Chemo Care Box filled with a cuddly bear, soft scarf, a journal, a plastic wear set, hard candy and handwritten notes of encouragement from other survivors. It wasn’t just a box of items — it was a box of hope.

Soon after, Lisa joined one of our Fireside Chats, where survivors and caregivers gathered to share stories, laugh, cry, and remind one another that they were not alone. These moments became her lifeline. She found strength in our Healing Spaces, where she could simply breathe, be heard, and even find moments of joy in the middle of her journey.

Through these connections, Lisa didn’t just get through chemo — she found herself again. She discovered that even in the hardest moments, there could be comfort, community, and a spark of joy.

At Making Chemo Bearable, we empower survivors like Lisa to walk through treatment with courage and hope, one care box, one conversation, one healing moment at a time.
