Everyone Deserves a Lifetime of Good Vision

When I ask friends and family which sense they would never want to lose, almost everyone says their eyesight. And it makes sense, our eyes let us see loved ones’ faces, read, travel, and take in the beauty of the world around us.

But for millions of people, vision loss is not just a fear, it’s reality. Diseases like Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD)  and Inherited Retinal Disorder, silently disturbs patient’s sight as they age, and too often there is no cure at the right time.

At Retina Foundation of the Southwest, I am fortunate to be part of a team dedicated to fighting blindness every single day. Our clinicians provide free vision assessments for AMD patients, while us scientists are working at the cutting edge of molecular biology and stem cell research to develop better treatments and understand blinding eye diseases. With over 60 ongoing clinical research studies, we are not just treating vision loss, we are advancing the science of saving sight.
