I invite you to join me in supporting the Blackland Prairie Raptor Center (BPRC). This organization is close to my heart because of its inspiring mission—carried forward by more than 150 dedicated volunteers, along with professional staff and leadership.

Every dollar donated goes directly toward education, wildlife conservation, and the care of raptors in need. Through BPRC’s work, thousands of North Texas children and families are introduced each year to the wonders of nature—whether through school field trips, homeschool days, Scout projects, or family-friendly events.

BPRC also admits 600–800 injured, sick, and orphaned raptors annually—including eagles, owls, hawks, falcons, kites, and vultures. This year alone, hundreds of baby raptors were given a second chance at life thanks to the Center’s efforts.

Our 17 Ambassador birds play a vital role too, meeting thousands of people across North Texas. Who doesn’t love the chance to see an owl up close? These encounters inspire wonder, spark curiosity, and connect people with the importance of protecting wildlife.

And every day, the Conservation team is hard at work on BPRC’s 66-acre property, restoring and protecting the Blackland Prairie—the most endangered ecosystem in North America, with just 0.04% of its original footprint remaining. Every acre saved is critical, not only for raptors, but also for Monarch butterflies and other threatened species.
