From snake bites to amputations — and everything in between — here at SCDRM, we have seen it all.

The dogs who come through our doors do not always arrive healthy. Some come to us heartworm positive, injured, sick, or needing extensive medical care before they can ever be ready for adoption.

And even after they are safely in our care, the unexpected can still happen.

An illness can surface. An injury can happen. A dog can suddenly need emergency treatment, surgery, medications, diagnostics, or specialized care. In rescue, we have learned that you can never predict what the next medical need will be — but we want to be prepared when it comes.

That is why we created the Healing Hounds Fundraiser.

This fund helps cover everything from routine medical care like spay and neuter surgeries, vaccinations, TCAP bills, heartworm testing and prevention to heartworm treatment, medications, emergency veterinary visits, surgeries, rehabilitation, and unexpected medical emergencies.

Sometimes it is routine. Sometimes it is complicated. Sometimes it is something we never could have seen coming.

Healing Hounds helps give us the ability to respond when a dog needs us most.

Because whether the medical need walks through our doors with them or happens somewhere along their journey with us, we want to be ready to give every dog the care they deserve.
