Every day she is getting stronger and stronger and being safely monitored
For weeks, Juniper wandered the streets alone, her belly growing heavier by the day as she tried to survive. It was clear she was pregnant, but no one could catch her. Eventually, her tired little body simply couldn’t keep running anymore. A kind soul reached out for help, and when we finally got her, it was obvious this wasn’t her first time struggling through pregnancy on the streets.
X-rays confirmed she was ready to deliver any moment, but they also revealed heartbreaking news—Juniper is heartworm positive. When labor began, she pushed for over three exhausting hours before her body gave out again. We had no choice but to rush her into emergency surgery. Thankfully, Juniper and her four precious babies survived.
Her fight wasn’t over though—her calcium levels dropped dangerously low shortly after, and once again she had to be saved. Through it all, she has remained the sweetest, most loving mama, doting on her babies even when her own body is still so weak.
Juniper has already endured far more than any dog should. She still faces a long and difficult battle with heartworm treatment, along with the costs of her c-section and spay, but we promised her that the suffering ends here. With your help, we can make sure Juniper and her babies never know pain, hunger, or loneliness again—only love and safety.
If you can contribute toward her medical care, we would be forever grateful. Together, we can give Juniper the happily ever after she’s been waiting her whole life for. ❤️
