This year, I’m raising $7,500, broken into “roots” of $2,500 each because every root we plant helps Junior Players branch out even further.

Why roots? Because they’re what keep us grounded, nourished, and able to grow tall. And after 26 years with Junior Players, I’ve seen how deeply our roots run. From my first performance in 1999 to today, I’ve watched kids from every Dallas community find their voice, build confidence, and grow into leaders and all because of FREE arts education.

I saw this spirit shine during our 2025 Shakespeare production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. On the last day of our run, disaster struck when we lost power right before the show. But our AMAZING CAST AND PRODUCTION TEAM,  with the support and patience of our incredible patrons -  #JuniorPlayersFamily didn’t let it stop them! We pivoted, proved the age-old adage “the show must go on,” and together we sent the production off on a high note.

That moment wasn’t just about a play. It was about resilience, creativity, and community AND the very roots we are growing together.

Here’s how each $2,500 root helps us branch out further:

  • Root 1: Expands access:  supporting new community partnerships in underserved neighborhoods.

  • Root 2: Strengthens programs:  keeping 100+ teaching artists employed and reaching 15,000 kids annually.

  • Root 3: Fuels voices:  creating life-changing productions like A Midsummer Night’s Dream, where young artists proved that with grit, flexibility, and community support, anything is possible.

By breaking my $7,500 goal into three roots, I’m inviting you to dig deep with me and help plant the seeds for Junior Players’ next 70 years!

Junior Players’ overall goal is $35,000 - and with your help, we can branch out into the future stronger than ever.
