Help Merrick Protect Raptors and Restore the Prairie We Call Home

As Treasurer of the Board at Blackland Prairie Raptor Center, I see the impact of every dollar—and the urgency behind every ask. I know exactly how far your generosity goes when it comes to saving injured raptors, restoring critical habitat, and educating thousands across North Texas.

Each year, our dedicated team provides medical care to nearly 800 birds of prey—hawks, owls, falcons, even bald eagles—many of them injured due to human causes like vehicle collisions, electrocution, or poisoning. We do this with remarkable efficiency, thanks to our full-time avian veterinarian and 160 weekly volunteers who donate more than 33,000 hours annually.

We are also restoring the Blackland Prairie—one of the most endangered ecosystems in North America—and reaching over 30,000 children and adults with powerful environmental education programs that inspire stewardship.

But none of this is possible without community support.
