I’m proud to support The Writer’s Garret, a vital hub for Dallas–Fort Worth’s literary community. It’s more than a creative space — it’s where local voices are nurtured, storytelling thrives, and connections flourish.
Your donation helps sustain programs that empower writers of all ages and backgrounds:
Lyceum Series Workshops – Monthly sessions on craft, open to all, building skills and inspiration.
The Common Language Project – an annual community poetry contest thatthat connects poets from around the world through a shared list of 30 keywords. Participants create poems inspired by these words, resulting in a diverse anthology that reflects a wide range of voices and experiences.
Stone Soup Peer Critique Group – Safe spaces where writers give and receive meaningful feedback.
Rail Writers – an immersive summer program that takes young writers on journeys aboard the DART trains, exploring Dallas's neighborhoods and landmarks, fostering creativity and a deeper connection to their city.
Dallas Is Lit! Festival – A citywide celebration connecting writers and readers.
Every gift keeps these programs accessible, fosters mentorship, and strengthens DFW’s literary culture.
Why it matters: Stories connect us, teach us, and shape our community. Supporting The Writer’s Garret ensures more voices are heard, more writers are empowered, and more stories reach the world.
Join me in supporting local writers. Every donation makes an impact.
