The Friends of the Coppell Library is a 501(c)(3) non-profit with the mission to enhance the library experience by creating public awareness, fostering community spirit, and bringing new programs to the library. The funds raised by the Friends of the Coppell Public Library are used to support Cozby Library and Community Commons by purchasing items and sponsoring programs that benefit the entire community and that are not included in the library's budget.
Some of the Friends-sponsored projects include:
- Harp Essence Annual Christmas Concert
- Summer Reading Program
- Author visits (Previous authors include Stuart Gibbs, Kelly Yang, Shelly Brown)
- Early Literacy and Discovery Backpacks (available for check-out in the library to strengthen and support learning and creativity)
- Coppell-area Little Free Libraries
The Cozby Library earned the TMLDA Achievement of Excellence in Libraries Award for the 20 consecutive years, as well as the DEMCO/Upstart Innovative Programming Award from the Texas Library Association. The Friends are part of this success, and we could not do it without the support of people like you. Together, we can continue to make the Cozby Library one of the best libraries anywhere!
