Liliana’s NFNL Fundraiser

Did you know, Texas Texas ranks second nationally for trafficking prevalence? Sexual exploitation in all forms is something that is happening right here in our city, neighborhoods, schools, and communities. 

New Friends New Life (NFNL) has been serving women and girls who have been impacted by sex trafficking and/or exploitation for the past 27 years in North Texas, through case management, trauma-informed counseling, and economic empowerment/educational support. NFNL is creating a community where women and girls can soar above the limits of their past and achieve their dreams.

This year, I began working at NFNL, and it has been one of the greatest honors of my life to serve these incredible women. As a counselor, I have the privilege of sitting across from them and meeting them exactly where they are. My responsibility is to create a safe, empowering environment that fosters trust and healing.

In my office, I witness the tears of joy when someone secures a job or learns she is expecting. I also hear stories of the unimaginable. Every day, I am in awe of the resilience and strength of the women who walk through our doors. Behind every statistic is a real human being with a life, a story, and a future.

What I’ve learned from these women is that trafficking and sexual exploitation are never choices, it’s the circumstances, the cards these women were dealt, that brought them to our program. At NFNL, we get to walk alongside them as they rebuild, reclaim, and rediscover who they are.
