Across the country and right here in North Texas, we are witnessing a troubling rollback of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs. Many companies are eliminating DEI roles, cutting budgets and removing Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) that once provided critical support for underrepresented employees. Cities like Dallas and Fort Worth have also paused or ended their DEI initiatives, driven by new federal directives that threaten funding if programs address race, gender or national origin.

These cuts represent a loss of safe spaces, mentorship, and advocacy for Black women in the workplace. Without these supports, the emotional weight of navigating systemic bias, microaggressions, and isolation grows heavier.

That’s why Unmuted exists. Each month, we gather online to:

  • Name our experiences without fear of dismissal

  • Learn healthy coping strategies and self-soothing techniques

  • Connect with a community that sees, hears, and validates us

Your donation ensures that, even as corporate and civic DEI programs disappear, Black women still have access to a space where their voices matter and their well-being comes first.
