Give 5 to Save a Life !

If you know me, you know I’ve always had a thing for the dogs who don’t get picked first — the ones with medical issues, the ones who arrive scared and hurting, the ones people look at and quietly whisper, “What’s the point... they are too far gone?” 

For  over 5 years, I’ve taken in these challenging cases because I can’t shake the belief that every animal deserves someone willing to try. Recently, I started fostering with Mazie’s Mission, and it felt like finding a place that speaks my language. They don’t shy away from the hard ones. They don’t flinch at the medical charts. 

Okay — they might say, “Oh my god… what the heck is that? Ewwww.” But then they lean right in and lovingly boop the crusty little snoot anyway.

They see past the mess and the fear and the medical chaos. They see the animal underneath — the one who’s still trying, still hoping, still deserving.

And honestly, with everything happening around us, doesn’t it give you a little hope to watch healing happen right in front of you? To see a dog who came in broken start wagging again? To watch fear melt into trust? Those moments remind me why I keep opening my door.

This week, I welcomed my 5th foster through Mazie’s Mission! 

So in honor of my first five — with many more ahead — I’m launching my North Texas Giving Day fundraiser:
