Murphy was born on March 12, 2017, along with eight brothers and sisters. Their
mother had been picked up as a stray by the county shelter while pregnant and heartworm positive. Fortunately, she was rescued by the Coppell Humane Society (CHS) on March 11, 2017, and gave birth to her nine puppies the very next day in foster care.
Murphy was the smallest of the litter and had some skin allergy issues, but he soon found a very special foster home with Karen and Frank. Murphy joined their family in August 2017, and they officially adopted him in January 2018.
For nearly nine years, Frank and Karen gave Murphy a wonderful, loving home. They had also been longtime foster volunteers for CHS. Due to circumstances beyond his control, when Frank could no longer care for Murphy he did exactly what CHS asks adopters to do—he called CHS and brought Murphy back to us.
That is exactly what CHS promises to do for the animals it places. CHS adoption agreements ask adopters to contact the organization if they can no longer care for their pet, rather than surrendering the animal to a shelter.
CHS welcomed Murphy back and helped him begin his next chapter.
Today, Murphy has found another loving home with Nancy and Bob—and their cats! He is a sweet, loving, and calm (most days!) dog who still acts like a puppy.
Murphy's story is a wonderful example of what the Coppell Humane Society is all about: a commitment to helping animals throughout their lives. But keeping that promise takes resources—and that's where you can help.
My fundraising goal is $1,200, and every dollar donated will help CHS continue rescuing, caring for, and finding loving homes for dogs and cats like Murphy. Whether you can give $10, $25, $50, or more, every donation makes a difference.
Please consider making a donation to help me reach my $1,200 goal. Together, we can help make sure that more animals like Murphy always have a safe place to turn—and the opportunity for another happy ending.
