🐾 In Loving Memory of Merlot Join me in Supporting Families Facing Critical Pet Care Decisions

Almost 3 months ago, my world changed forever. I lost my emotional support dog, my best friend, my joyous Goldendoodle Merlot.

On June 25, 2025, just one day after Merlot’s 8th birthday, we received devastating news: he was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma, an aggressive and terminal blood cancer. Within a week, our sweet boy was gone.

That week was filled with heartbreak, confusion, and incredibly difficult decisions. Decisions no pet parent ever wants to face. My husband and I were lucky to have the financial means to give Merlot the care he needed in his final days. But not every family is that fortunate.

No one should have to make life-or-death choices for their beloved pet based solely on finances.

That’s why I'm starting this fund in Merlot’s honor  to help others facing these unimaginable moments. This fundraiser, Dogs Life: In Honor of Merlot, will provide financial assistance to families caring for dogs diagnosed with critical or terminal illnesses.

Merlot gave us 8 beautiful years of unconditional love, joy, and emotional support. Now, it’s our turn to give back  to help other dogs live with dignity and comfort, and to support the families who love them.

Your donation will go directly toward:

• Emergency and palliative veterinary care

• Quality-of-life support for terminally ill dogs

• Helping families avoid painful choices driven by financial constraints
