Martin Luther King Early Childhood Center
Opened in the early 1970s, the MLK Center has served families in South Dallas for over 50 years. Honoring Dr. King’s vision, the center partners with parents and community leaders to build brighter futures through education. Accredited by NAEYC, the site features a nature-based outdoor learning playground gifted by PNC Bank and participates in Dallas ISD’s School Readiness Integration initiative. Its meeting room is named for Diane Ragsdale, a lifelong champion of civic justice, and the center has even welcomed leaders like Hillary Clinton, who visited in 1998.
