Board & Friends Give Back

At Key School and Training Center, our Board members proudly and mindfully uphold the mission of the organization through every vote we cast, every recommendation we make, every effort we undertake to provide support.  At times, operating at the level of the Board can feel like working in abstract, so it’s a welcome shift to occasionally zoom in close, to observe the powerful difference the actions of all those doing the day-to-day work make in the lives of those they serve.  At Key School and Training Center, this is evident as soon as you step onto campus and experience the love and care from which every action emerges. From meeting each student’s individual learning needs to creating a safe, inclusive, and family-like setting perfectly suited for instruction, socialization, and inspiration, from its well-credentialed faculty to its highly effective teaching methods and therapies, Key School sets itself apart in so many ways from other organizations operating in a similar space.  

 Sustaining such a high-level of performance requires an all-hands-on-deck approach – staff, families, alumni, and the Board, working together.  Each year, North Texas Giving Day provides a simple and direct way to acknowledge the great work of this wonderful and important organization - to send a clear message that Key School matters, the work matters, the outcomes matter… and as Board members, we’re willing to devote not only our time, energy, experience, fairness, and consideration of important matters to the organization, but also our financial support to help the school fill the tuition gap in order to continue its much-needed services.

Currently, tuition and fees only cover about 70% of the cost to educate a student or to train teachers to become dyslexia therapists.  Making a North Texas Giving Day donation to Key School and Training Center directly contributes to the Key Pillars Annual Fund, with the express purpose of filling the 30% gap.  I invite you, our Board members, as well as our respective family, friends, and associates who are aware of the important work we do on the Board and understand how much impact Key School and Training Center has on students in our communities, to join me in making a donation.
