The History of Mansfield, Texas

In the early days of the Mansfield Historical Society, a group of dedicated and passionate volunteers began researching and collecting information and photos about the history of Mansfield, Texas and the surrounding areas. 

The basis for this research was to develop the archives that we have today. An added benefit was the production of a history book titled The History of Mansfield, Texas. The book covers a period of time from the mid 1800s to 1965. 

The first edition of The History of Mansfield, Texas was published in 1996 by a committee of nine industrious women, without whom the Mansfield Historical Society would likely not be what it is today. We are infinitely grateful for their hard work!

Thirty years later, we salute them once again with the planned release of an Anniversary Edition to include an addendum of updates and corrections to entries for which time has revealed new information.
