Music has the unique ability to touch the soul, evoke emotions, and rekindle cherished memories. For those who may feel isolated due to age, illness, or other challenges, live music can be a profound source of comfort and joy.
Healing Notes bridges gaps by bringing the symphony experience directly to those who can benefit from it the most.
Interactive Engagement:
Our musicians connect with their audience by introducing each song, sharing stories about composers, and answering all questions. It's not just a concert but a conversation, fostering moments of connection, curiosity, and joy.
Therapeutic Benefits:
Familiar music can evoke deep emotional responses and help reduce feelings of loneliness and anxiety, particularly for individuals with Alzheimer’s or dementia.
Our approach is backed by science — studies show that listening to classical music leads to stronger spatial reasoning skills, reduces the risk of brain atrophy, and slows cognitive decline, commonly known as the "Mozart effect".
Fun and games:
Our Healing Notes performances take all shapes. We've brought string quartets, brass quintets, drum circles and more to every corner of Richardson. Some of these performances involve a tactile craft demonstration (like folding paper cranes) and others involve "Guess That Song" games with familiar tunes that our audience will recognize.
We know we've succeeded when we see people nodding their heads, tapping their feet, and humming along to the music.
That’s the power of Healing Notes.
We believe everyone deserves access to live music—not just those who can sit in a concert hall.
Your North Texas Giving Day gift helps the Richardson Symphony Orchestra bring musicians and meaningful musical experiences to people throughout our community who might otherwise not have the opportunity to experience them.
And help us bring music where it’s needed most.
