At the beginning of last year, my husband and I decided we were ready to try for one more little one. I had been hoping for a March baby, as it would make four generations of March birthdays in my family, beginning with my grandmother. We were overjoyed when we found out that we had gotten pregnant on the first try and that our precious little one was due March 18, 2025.

This pregnancy felt different almost immediately, and I became concerned when I experienced spotting and our baby measured smaller than expected. We remained hopeful and prayed fervently. Sadly, on August 13, 2024, we were told I was most likely miscarrying. Three days later, on August 16, our sweet baby girl, Lillie, was born into heaven.

Just days later, a kind woman from my church, who had also walked this path of loss, called to let me know she wanted to bring me a gift. The next day, she delivered a Hope Box to my home. I was deeply touched by the thoughtfulness of its contents. Each item inside was carefully chosen to bring comfort, truth, and the reminder that I was not alone. That box was the first step in my healing journey through the unbearable grief of losing Lillie.

Through that Hope Box, I discovered a community of women who truly understood. Women who had also experienced heartbreaking loss, yet clung to the hope we have in Christ. I soon became a part of this incredible ministry, Hope Mommies, and it has been an honor to walk alongside others as they navigate the same grief.

Here in the Dallas and Fort Worth chapters, Hope Mommies partners with over 30 hospitals to provide Hope Boxes to mothers who have lost their babies. In 2026, our goal is to pack and distribute 900 Hope Boxes. Each box costs $60 to make, and because we are a nonprofit, we rely entirely on generous donations.

I know firsthand how much a Hope Box means in the darkest of moments. It is a tangible reminder that we are seen, loved, and that our hope in Christ is greater than our sorrow.

Would you prayerfully consider donating to help another mother receive the same gift of hope that changed my life?
