When I stepped into the role of Director of the Creative Arts Center in January 2024, I brought with me over 32 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, including 22 years as Executive Director of the Fannin County Children’s Center. While many knew of my dedication for helping young people from hard places, few realized that I also had a deeply creative side.

Since joining the Creative Arts Center, my artistic side has truly blossomed, and I now proudly call myself an artist. I enjoy exploring various mediums, with favorites including embroidery, slow stitching, junk journaling, watercolors, acrylics and mixed media. I have also discovered a love for visible mending, basket weaving and creating garden charms.

The Creative Arts Center in Bonham will be turning 25 in 2026! I remember when the art center opened in 2001, shortly after I arrived in Bonham.  My youngest daughter took art classes and was an active member of Kidz Krew for many years and is now working in the professional theatre world, designing costumes and working with the backstage crews.  My middle daughter also took many art classes at the center when she was growing up.

We are now launching a year long celebration of 25th anniversary of the art center that means so much to me, my family and others in this community.  My personal goal is to raise $1000 towards our overall organization goal of $25,000.  Each gift you make will be doubled with matching funds, thanks to our generous current and past board members.
