Bringing the Community Together, Year-Round
For Oak Cliff was built on the belief that students should be equipped with the resources and supplies they need and it all started with our very first Back to School Festival in 2014. What began as a grassroots effort has grown into an annual tradition that brings thousands of families together, providing free resources, food, entertainment, and school supplies. Our most recent festival cost $188,000 to host, ensuring that every child walked away with the tools they needed to start the school year ready to succeed all at no cost to our families.
But Back to School Festival isn't the only effort we use to provide a sense of community to our members . Our Events & Development team creates free, joy-filled spaces for connections all year round, including:

Fall Festival & Haunted House
Heart of Harvest Thanksgiving Brunch
For Oak Cliffmas Skate Party
Plus so many ad-hoc pop-ups, celebrations, and gatherings throughout the year
Because For Oak Cliff membership is free to the public, your donation makes it possible to keep it that way. On average, it costs about $45 per member each month to host community events, provide supplies, and create spaces of joy and belonging.
