💙 Evan's Run Club ' 25 - Let's Run it Back! 

Hi! My name is Ian Moudy. I'm 21 years old from Dallas, Texas. I am currently a Junior at the University of Texas. Last year, my older brother, Evan (24), was diagnosed with a very rare (~1300 cases in the US) inherited retina disease caused by a mutation in the CRB1 gene. This disease is progressive and degenerative. There is no treatment - advancement in medical science is the only hope for a cure. 

Last year, I ran the BMW Dallas Half Marathon in honor of Evan to raise money for vision research. I've got my running shoes laced up once again and am ready to run it back! 👟

This year, I'm hoping to run BOTH the Dallas and Austin Marathons in honor of Evan and plan to donate all proceeds to the Retina Foundation of the Southwest, an organization that has been a great source of hope and support to our family since Evan's diagnosis.

To make every mlle count, I've set a fundraising goal of $2,620.00 -  $100 for every mile I run, with my dream goal being to DOUBLE that to $5,240, the full distance of both marathons!

While we know there is currently no cure or clinical trial for Evan's exact condition, we are hopeful that research for other retinal diseases may one day lead to the breakthrough that will help him, too. That hope exists because of the groundbreaking research conducted by the Retina Foundation! 

We are also bringing back Evan's Run Club shirts (link coming soon). As with monetary donations, all proceeds from shirt sales will go directly to the Retina Foundation of the Southwest. Wearing a shirt not only supports the cause, but also helps raise awareness—it would be amazing to see a sea of them on race day! 💙
