At Clark Gardens, learning does not have to happen within four walls. It happens along winding garden paths, beneath the shade of towering trees, beside blooming flowers, and through the observation of the wildlife that calls the gardens home. Clark Gardens is more than a beautiful botanical destination; it is a Living Classroom where nature becomes the teacher, and every visit offers an opportunity to discover something new.
The Living Classroom at Clark Gardens provides meaningful, hands-on educational experiences that connect people of all ages with the natural world. Through gardens, wildlife, educational programs, interpretive displays, school field trips, and interactive activities, visitors are encouraged to slow down, look closer, ask questions, and develop a deeper understanding of the world around them.
Clark Gardens believes that some of the most memorable lessons are learned through experience. A child can read about pollination in a textbook, but watching a butterfly move from flower to flower creates a connection that is difficult to replicate inside a traditional classroom. Students can study trees from photographs, but standing beneath a living tree allows them to observe its bark, leaves, size, shape, and importance to the ecosystem firsthand. At Clark Gardens, education is something visitors can see, hear, touch, and experience.
Every year, Clark Gardens provides a free educational program for 1st and 4th-graders in the local community. It teaches about the power of pollinators and celebrates the importance of nature through Arbor Day. The gardens have been able to sustain these programs at no cost through the generosity of donors.
With your support, we can continue providing these meaningful educational experiences to local students for years to come. Your donation helps ensure that every child has the opportunity to explore, discover, and develop a lifelong appreciation for the natural world. Help us keep the Living Classroom growing.
