Cedar Creek Lake, we need your help!

  • In 2024, Feral Friends funded 1,500+ spay/neuter surgeries for Henderson County community cats (Mostly in Gun Barrel, Mabank & Seven Points).

  • The cost to cover that many surgeries is well over $100K.

  • Which includes, spay/neuter, fvcrp vaccine, Rabies, Ear tip & covers extra costs like in heat, Pregnant, Pyometra and other emergency surgeries on a case by case basis.

  • With their support, Feral Heroes trapped and fixed 350+ cats in 2024 and 200+ (so far) in 2025 in Gun Barrel City, Tool, Seven Points and Mabank and even Terrell.

  • In April 2025, Feral Heroes trapped and fixed 60 cats in Tamarack, a sub-division in GBC —proof that targeted TNR works. Unfortunately, we have had to say no to many caretakers with 30+ cats due to lack of funding.

  • Local cities/counties do not budget for community-cat surgeries. It’s up to neighbors, businesses, and donors like you.

Our Story Feral Heroes Rescue is a local rescue in Mabank that officially became a 501c3 July 1, 2024. We are launching this fundraiser for Feral Friends Community Alliance because, without them, we simply couldn’t fix cats at the scale Henderson County needs. Their funding helps cover the surgeries; we do the trapping, transport, and recovery. Together, we’ve prevented thousands of unwanted kittens, reduced suffering, and stabilized colonies around the lake.

2025 funding is tighter and calls for mpre help to keep up the effort. Small rescues are drowning in daily requests to take in kittens—when what truly changes the future is preventing those kittens from being born into hardship.

Your gift today goes straight to more spay/neuter surgeries through Feral Friends so we can keep saying “yes” to the next cat, the next colony, the next neighborhood.

Feral Heroes & Feral Friends have worked together to secure contracts with another vet in Seven Points, which will allow us to help more cats.

IN APRIL 2025,  Tamarack, GBC, TX stats:

SINCE DEC. 2023, FERAL HEROES HAS PARTENERED WITH THE SPCA OF TEXAS TO GET friendly cats & kittens on transport TO FLY UP NORTH TO FIND THEIR FOREVER HOMES!

So far in 2025, we have placed at least 100 on transport (metrics TBD,but that's a conservative estimate). It takes time, volunteers (that we need more of), transport (which funding for a used van would be amazing). It's not easy work, but worth it to see these babies find their forever home and get off the streets.

This poor girl was suffering outside. We had to house her for 2 months (she was feral) before we could find a vet that would remove her eye. Feral Friends happily stood up and funded her surgery. She has since been returned where she was born and has lived and will not have so much pain
