FLEAS North Texas Giving Day 2025

At Friends of the Little Elm Animal Shelter (FLEAS), we believe every pet deserves love, safety, and a chance to thrive. Whether it’s a stray cat finding warmth in a forever home, a beloved dog staying with her family thanks to emergency food support, or a lost pet reunited through a free microchip—our mission is simple: to improve the lives and well-being of animals in our community.

Over the past year, FLEAS has deepened its commitment to the animals of Little Elm and surrounding towns like Frisco, Hilltown, Oak Point, Crossroads, and Aubrey. We’ve expanded our reach beyond the shelter walls, offering compassionate programs that keep pets with the people who love them and ensure every animal has a path to a better life.

Through our Surrender Prevention Program, we’ve helped struggling families stay together by providing emergency pet food and spay/neuter assistance—reducing shelter intakes and preventing heartbreak. We’ve sponsored free microchips to bring lost pets home and funded emergency medical care for animals in crisis.

Inside the shelter, we’ve delivered enrichment items to soothe anxious pets, created Pet of the Week campaigns to spotlight overlooked animals, offered adoption subsidies to remove financial barriers to forever homes, and supported foster and rescue placements for those needing extra care. We’ve even helped injured wildlife reach rehabilitation centers safely.
