Support My Work Against Hunger/Homelessness!

I have been volunteering at First Street Mission's Grocery Service for 8 years, and I've served on the board of directors including 3 years as the board chair. I'm proud of the work we do at the Mission. For example, I drive our van twice a week to "rescue" short-dated food from local grocery stores. That effort got 60 tons of fresh produce, meats, dairy products, and baked goods into the homes of hungry families.

For the past two years, we have been deepening the impact of our organization, with the goal of providing the kind of relationship-based social support that can end homelessness and/or poverty, one guest at a time.

This year for North Texas Giving Day, the Mission has received pledges that will match dollar-for-dollar everything we raise, up to $4,500. My personal goal is to raise $4,000 from friends and family to support this effort.
