The Mindful Project improves the mental and physical health of nonprofit staff and law enforcement through trauma-sensitive, mindfulness-based stress reduction training. Nonprofit workers regularly face moral injury and secondhand trauma as they fill critical gaps in services left by state and federal systems. This work takes a heavy toll, and burnout is now at an all-time high. The human nervous system is not built to withstand continuous exposure to trauma without support. Public service staff are essential to healthy communities, and they deserve consistent care, education, and healing opportunities.

The Mindful Project also supports law enforcement. While basic training teaches officers how to stay alive, it often overlooks how to emotionally survive the job. As a result, even as line-of-duty deaths decline, police suicides are on the rise. This is a complex issue, but trauma-informed mindfulness training offers a vital part of the solution by building resilience, reducing stress, and improving overall well-being.

We aim to bring awareness to these often forgotten populations and deliver to them the mental health and wellness tools they deserve.
