Support My Work Against Hunger/Homelessness!

I have been volunteering at First Street Mission during pantry hours for about 4 years as well as serving on their board of directors. I'm proud of the work I get to do there, because I get to see the smiles on our guest's faces as they receive groceries every week. In the photo above is a former customer who I now work side by side with. I am inspired by his story as the First Street Mission not only helped him find a place to live, but continues to work with him to see him thrive. Another program I am passionate about is the Food4Kids program. Over 90% of FWISD students qualify for free or reduced lunches. First Street Mission sends home food every weekend with over 500 students within the district, including a few at my daughter's school. Teachers have told me sweet stories about how these bags of food are so appreciated. These services would not be possible without generous donors like you!

For the past two years we have been working to deepen the impact of our organization, with the goal of providing the kind of relationship-based support systems that can end homelessness and/or poverty, one guest at a time.

This year for North Texas Giving Day, the Mission won a grant that will match dollar-for-dollar everything we raise, up to $4,500. My personal goal is to raise $1,000 from friends and family to support this effort.
